Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a technique designed to release spasmodic muscles that are causing pain or discomfort. Trigger point therapy was originally established with the research of Dr. Janet Travell. Dr. Travell was the personal physician to John F. Kennedy and helped relieve his back pain. The therapy is based on the observation that a tight painful muscle can be released by touching or injecting a trigger point in that muscle. Trigger point therapy resets the neuromuscular signaling and relaxes the muscle. Trigger point therapy can produce a very relaxing effect immediately. Trigger point therapy works to release painful muscles. Since all muscles work off similar cell signaling, trigger point therapy can be used to treat muscle pain in any area of the body.
